Scott’s passion is helping brands differentiate and increase marketing traction.
A co-founder of national agency Rockett Burkhead & Winslow, he managed branding and campaign relationships for companies like Glaxo, Volvo, Marvel, Dollar Tree Stores, and Reeds Jewelers.
Scott retired from RBW in 2009 and two years later created Burkhead Brand Group (BBG). Through a disciplined approach called the Genesis Path, BBG helps clients get results by defining, simplifying, and focusing their brand messages.
Joshua Cruce, PMP
Director of Operations
Joshua has extensive operational management experience, including developing logistics support for marketing and advertising agencies. He managed programs for several national Place-based brands including Denny’s Restaurants, using best of class project management and process improvement methodologies. His focus at BBG is to improve operational systems, process and policies to ensure all resources are used wisely to maximize value to clients. A strategic leader, Joshua’s priorities are enhancing communications flow, business processes, and providing strategic operations planning.
Executive Creative Director
Working for agencies in New York City and North Carolina, Bill’s résumé includes a broad range of creative work. Over the course of his career, Bill has received many prestigious advertising awards including the Clio, the OneShow and the New York Art Director’s Club Award.
As a senior-level creative director at both McKinney and RBW, he created high-profile campaigns for the Carolina Hurricanes, Subaru Automobiles, the U.S. Women’s Open and Golden Corral. In 2012, Bill joined the BBG team, offering his creative expertise in branding and creative execution.
Director of Research and Insights
Sean Jecko is a brand strategist with more than 15 years of experience interacting with consumers and uncovering insights. He has worked in a wide range of industries including retail, packaged goods, travel/tourism, telecommunications, and healthcare. He spent six years as a Brand Planner and then Brand Planning Group Head at The Richards Group in Dallas, and five years as a Group Strategy Director and Associate Director of Planning at McKinney in Durham, NC and NYC. Sean has led or contributed to the research, analysis, and development of brand strategies for clients including the US Army, Mayo Clinic, Virgin Atlantic, Travelocity, and Qwest.
Senior Art Director
Stephanie has over 18 years of experience as an Art Director, helping clients in a diverse set of industries including automotive, pharmaceutical, health care, and high-tech. She specializes in creating advertising campaigns (in all forms of media), brand identities, collateral, and branded environments. Honing her skills at McKinney, she went on to spend several years at other local agencies and corporations, including RBW and Duke Creative Services. In her career, Stephanie has worked with top brands such as Volvo Trucks, Duke University, Duke University Medical Center, Progress Energy, and Quintiles.
Like most children, Tony loved to draw. In the third grade, he realized he had a special gift and decided to be a designer when he grew up. He’s been honing his craft ever since!
Tony has developed designs for Absolut Vodka, JC Penney, Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge. He is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a degree in visual communications and has numerous design awards from the American Advertising Federation. He joined the BBG team in 2016.
